Huntersville Fire Department

The Huntersville Fire DepartmentTown of Huntersville contracts with the Huntersville Fire Department (HFD) to provide fire and rescue services to the Town and its extra-territorial jurisdiction.

HFD is an independent combination department, consisting of paid staffing 24/7 - supplemented by volunteers serving alongside paid crews, as needed. HFD has more than 100 members (volunteers and paid staffing combined) providing fire and rescue service to more than 60,000 Huntersville residents and property in the Town's 63-square-mile jurisdiction.

The County's volunteer fire departments are funded in part by County fire service districts in the Town's ETJ, with the Town paying for capital items.
