Area Attractions


Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatics (HFFA) is a world-class facility boasting an Olympic sized 50-meter competition pool and diving well. It has served as host to a number of world class events, such as the 2005 Speedo U.S. National and Junior National Diving Championships. In addition, HFFA offers a well rounded fitness experience with a 25-yard warm water pool, full court gymnasium, complete fitness studio, and an outdoor splash pad that children and their parents regularly enjoy during warmer months.

The town also offers a variety of beautiful parks. The Town of Huntersville Parks and Recreation Department manages 18 parks, gyms and multi-purpose facilities. Huntersville’s larger parks are home to many amateur sporting events and youth tournaments every year, while several pocket parks offer neighborhood playgrounds and space for team sport activities. The Huntersville Parks and Recreation Department also works with area partners to bring new events to the area.

Lake Norman

Huntersville also provides access to Lake Norman and its 520 miles of shoreline. Huntersville residents can find access to the lake by visiting Blythe Landing Park, just off NC Highway 73 for launching boats and other recreational activities. There is also local access to Mountain Island Lake.

Latta Plantation

Huntersville is home to Historic Latta Plantation with its 1200+ acres of historic sites, nature preserve, trails for biking, hiking or horseback riding and access to Mountain Island Lake for canoeing. Latta is also home to the Carolina Raptor Center, Latta Equestrian Center and Latta Nature Preserve.

Rural Hill Farm

Huntersville is also home to Rural Hill Farm, the homestead of Major John and Violet Wilson Davidson, which pays tribute to Scottish heritage. Rural Hill offers a variety of events year-round and attracts visitors throughout the region. Events include the Loch Norman Highland Games, the Amazing Maize Maze and Rural Hill Sheep Dog Trials and Dog Festival among other historical events throughout the year.


Several fine golf courses also call Huntersville home. These include the Arnold Palmer designed Birkdale Golf Club, semi-private Skybrook Golf Club and the private Northstone Country Club. Huntersville sits in the middle of the Lake Norman and Charlotte regions where numerous outstanding golf locations are found.


Huntersville is home to some of the region’s most unique mixed-use developments. 

Birkdale Village is a residential, office, shopping and dining destination to compare with any in the State. Its numerous shops, restaurants and movie theater offer something for those of all ages. Special events and concerts are regularly held at its fountain and throughout its green space.

Rosedale Shopping Center offers a variety of necessities such as CVS, Harris Teeter, Publix and a mix of stores and fast casual restuarants.

Northcross Shopping Center and Bryton both offer big box shopping opportunities and several chain restaurants for dining.
