The Town of Huntersville is holding its annual Veterans Day Parade, Ceremony & Celebrations event on Saturday, November the 10th, 2018.
Motorists not attending Veterans Day are urged to avoid the downtown area.
Police will be present at key locations to reduce motorist confusion.
Roads set to temporarily close during the parade from 9:30am – 11:00am: Old Statesville Rd (NC 115 between Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd and Sherwood Dr), Gilead Rd/Huntersville-Concord Rd (between Sherwood Dr and Main St), Maxwell Ave (from E Greenway St to Old Statesville Rd), and E Greenway St (between Old Statesville Rd and Maxwell Ave). Maxwell Ave (between N Old Statesville Rd & Huntersville-Concord Rd) will remain closed from 8:00am-12:00pm for the event.
Northbound Old Statesville Rd (NC 115) will be detoured by turning left on Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd, then turning right on the ramp to Statesville Rd (US 21), then turning right on Stumptown Rd, then turning left on Old Statesville Rd (NC 115).
Southbound Old Statesville Rd (NC 115) will be detoured by turning right onto Stumptown Rd, then left on Statesville Rd (US 21), right onto the ramp for Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd, turning right onto Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd, and turning right onto S. Old Statesville Rd (NC 115).
Eastbound Gilead Rd will be detoured by turning right onto Statesville Road (US 21), right onto the ramp for Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd, turning right onto Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd, left onto S. Main St and right onto Huntersville-Concord Rd.
Westbound Huntersville-Concord Rd will be detoured by turning left onto S. Main St, right onto Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd, then turning right onto the ramp for Statesville Rd (US 21), then left onto Gilead Rd.
