[ARCHIVED] Waste Connections Update - Leaf Collection Season Begins this Week

As we transition to fall, that means the start of leaf season.  Beginning October 14, Waste Connections will begin collecting up to 10 bags of leaves curbside as part of its regular yard waste collection.  This period will run through January 14, 2020.  Residents are encouraged to use their yard waste bins and up to 10 bags per week of leaves.

Last year, the Town was supplied with brown yard waste bags by Mecklenburg County.  To date, those have not been supplied and are not available for residents.

Holiday Reminders - With the holidays upon us, the only days Waste Connections takes off each year are Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.  They operate each week with a one-day delay based on the observed holiday.  Christmas trees will be collected up to two weeks following Christmas
