logo

The Board of Adjustment is a 7-member board with 3-alternates that meet on an as needed basis to hear cases concerning ordinance interpretations, requests, or appeals for variances. Their specific charges include:

  • To hear and decide appeals from any order, decision, determination, or interpretation made by the Planning Director pursuant to or regarding these regulations.
  • To hear and decide petitions for variances from the requirements of these regulations.
  • To make an interpretation of any portion of this ordinance.
  • To serve as the Watershed Review Board and rule on all petitions in accordance with the procedures specified in the watershed ordinance

These quasi-judicial hearings are held as needed on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are held in-person and are open to the public.

If you are interested in serving your community we encourage you to sign up. Applications will be reviewed by the Town Board and a new member will be selected to fill an alternate position. If you have any questions you may contact Tracy Barron, Executive Assistant Planning Department at tbarron@huntersville.org or 704-766-2215.
