Effective Monday, January 4, 2021, Waste Connections will be changing the service schedule to change the day and recycling week for certain customers in the southwestern portion of Huntersville. This change is necessary to accommodate the growth of the town. Affected residents should begin receiving mailed notices as early as this week from Waste Connections informing them of the change. The new pickup schedule will be:
Trash – Every Tuesday
Yard Waste – Every Tuesday
Recycle – Bi-Weekly Tuesday (A – Week)
The Town worked with Waste Connections to make sure adequate notice would be given to residents and that residents affected by the change see no lapse in their recycling collection once the change has been implemented. Those residents will operate under the current recycling schedule for the month of December and have recycling collection the week of January 4th and January 11th, and will resume the new schedule after this time.
This change will affect nearly 1,000 residents in the southwestern portion of Huntersville. Affected streets include:
