An open house was held on February 5 and 6, 2018 regarding the interchange improvements on I-77 at N.C. 73 (Sam Furr Road) and the proposed improvements to N.C. 73 from N.C. 16 to Northcross Drive. Members of the public had an opportunity to view maps of proposed designs, ask questions and provide comments to project team members at the meetings. Project description for the interchange improvements on i-77 at N.C. 73
The N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) proposed to reconfigure the I-77 and N.C. 73 (Sam Furr Road) interchange. The purpose of this project is to improve mobility and connectivity for local traffic accessing properties adjacent to this interchange. A secondary purpose is to reduce delay and congestion on N.C. 73 through the I-77/N.C. 73 interchange.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION FOR N.C. 73 Improvements from n.c. 16 to northcross drive
The purpose of the project is to increase the traffic capacity of N.C. 73 and preserve long-term mobility of the corridor. A secondary purpose is to safely accommodate multi-modal uses of the corridor.
