Joe Harvey Hunt taught history and coached baseball at North Mecklenburg High School and finished his career as principal there. He was inducted into the North Mecklenburg Athletic Hall of Fame in 2020. Mr. Hunt was a deacon and Sunday School director at Huntersville First Baptist Church.
