The Town of Huntersville’s Finance Department is being recognized for its excellence in financial reporting for the seventh year in a row.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) recently awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the Town of Huntersville for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022. The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate the Town of Huntersville’s financial story.
"The Town of Huntersville works hard to hold ourselves to the highest standards, and we are pleased to be recognized for our financial reporting practices," said Finance Director Pattie McGinnis. "This award demonstrates our employees' commitment to transparency, accuracy and full disclosure of our financial practices. I am grateful to all of our employees who are committed to high standards of financial reporting."
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The Government Finance Officers Association is headquartered in Chicago, Ill., and is a major professional organization serving the needs of more than 20,000 appointed and elected government officials and other finance practitioners.
